CORE SWX AND RED DIGITAL CINEMA ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TO OFFER PREMIUM POWER SOLUTIONS

PLAINVIEW, NY, AUGUST 29, 2022 ─ Core SWX, a leader in battery and charging solutions, partners with a leading manufacturer of professional digital cinema cameras, RED Digital Cinema, to develop a new battery pack for the RED V-RAPTOR XL. The REDVOLT XL-V and G packs are part of Core’s Native Dual Voltage™ line of Helix MAX battery packs offering both 14v and 28v natively with no power regulation or up-conversion, providing a robust power platform for RED’s V-RAPTOR XL cameras.

The REDVOLT XL packs offer the most power delivery in a sub-160wh battery product in the market (capable of delivering up to 400watts of power), while still being able to be hand-carried on an aircraft.

Utilizing a standard V-mount and G-mount style, the packs can charge on all standard 14v Lithium Ion chargers as well as compatible with any low voltage (14v) devices, providing one battery platform on set. Leveraging Core’s patented Helix dual voltage platform, when the packs connect to a V-RAPTOR XL, the device(or camera in this application) informs the battery pack that it can accept high voltage and the XL pack immediately provides up to 12A at 28v. Once disconnected from the camera, the REDVOLT XL packs will immediately revert back to a 14v pack.

Furthermore, the packs contain an enhanced communication library so not only will the packs report remaining charge percentage and runtime but also can communicate with the camera what the battery type, current discharge load is, firmware rev, and more.

The packs will make their debut with the RED V-RAPTOR XL starting to ship the end of August, and be on display at the IBC Show, September 9-12, at RED’s stand 11.B38.
