RED Digital Cinema has built its reputation on cameras like the V-RAPTOR, KOMODO, and legacy systems like DSMC2 and Ranger. While RED offers their own power solutions (including ones Core SWX has co-developed with them, such as the REDVOLT Micro-V), Core also provides a full range of versatile battery systems designed to keep your RED rig running longer and smarter while powering your accessories too.
RED V-RAPTOR & V-RAPTOR [X]
The V-RAPTOR and V-RAPTOR [X] require micro V-Mount batteries due to their compact design.
-
REDVOLT Micro-V (98Wh)
Co-developed by Core and available exclusively through RED, these are the official packs designed for seamless fit and communication. -
Core XCell (99Wh / 148Wh)
Positioned as the best value entry-level option, XCell packs feature SMBUS communication for proper camera LCD readouts, while delivering professional features at a lower price point.-
Customizable OLED display (with option to put your logo on your packs)
-
USB-C PD, P-Tap, and 8V/12V barrel outputs
-
Rugged Gorilla Glass® screen for durability
-
LED wraparound gauge visible from any angle
- Perfect for content creators who want high performance without the premium price tag.
-
-
Core Nano X (98Wh / 147Wh)
Compact, flight-safe packs also with SMBUS communication for accurate LCD readouts. Nano X packs are Core’s premium line, offering:-
LED wraparound gauge visible from any angle
-
EmLED runtime display for down-to-the-minute readouts
-
VoltBridgeID for remote battery vitals + asset tagging
-
USB-C PD, P-Tap outputs, rugged housing, and reliable high-load performance
-
RED KOMODO & KOMODO-X
Although they share a name, the KOMODO and KOMODO-X differ in how they handle external power.
-
KOMODO-X
Ships with a native micro V-Mount back, so you can run packs like the Nano X or XCell directly—no plate required. If you’d like to integrate with the Snap system, the V-SNAPIT plate adapts the V-Mount back for direct Snap battery use.
-
KOMODO
Uses a BP-style battery backing, so to run V-Mount or G-Mount packs you’ll need Core’s RED-approved plates:-
CXV-KOMU (V-Mount) and CXA-KOMU (G-Mount)
-
These pass SMBUS data, keep the DC input free for AC or hot-swapping, and add P-Tap, USB, and 2-pin LEMO outputs.
For Snap integration, Core also offers the SNAP-KOMU, a direct BP-mount adapter that allows KOMODO users to run Powerbase Edge Snap and Snap Mighty batteries.

Both Nano X (premium, feature-rich with EmLED + VoltBridgeID) and XCell (affordable, creator-focused with customizable OLED branding) are excellent choices depending on your workflow and budget.

-
Helix Max (98Wh, 150Wh, 293Wh, 354Wh)
Operates at 14V or 28V, switching automatically with Helix plates. Perfect for Ranger builds and high-voltage workflows like lighting.-
